چکیده

Despite the development of extensive websites with high-quality information, and the use of powerful search engines, many users find it difficult to find comprehensive information. One reason for this difficulty is that information, even for narrowly well-defined topics, is highly scattered across websites with no page or site containing all the relevant information. This high scatter can be explained by the existence of three page profiles that vary in information density, each of which plays a distinct role in the presentation of information. Such information scatter has important implications for searchers and for the design of systems to help find comprehensive information.

Scatter matters: Regularities and implications for the scatter of healthcare information on the Web

Despite the development of huge healthcare Web sites and powerful search engines, many searchers end their searches prematurely with incomplete information. Recent studies suggest that users often retrieve incomplete information because of the complex scatter of relevant facts about a topic across Web pages. However, little is understood about regularities underlying such information scatter. T...

Scatter Networks: A New Approach for Analyzing Information Scatter on the Web

Information on any given topic is often scattered across the Web. Previously this scatter has been characterized through the inequality of distribution of facts (i.e. pieces of information) across webpages. Such an approach conceals how specific facts (e.g. rare facts) occur in specific types of pages (e.g. fact-rich pages). To reveal such regularities, we construct bipartite networks, consisti...

Artifact reduction techniques in Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) imaging modality

Introduction: Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) was introduced and became more common based on its low cost, fast image procedure rate and low radiation dose compared to CT. This imaging modality improved diagnostic and treatment-planning procedures by providing three-dimensional information with greatly reduced level of radiation dose compared to 2D dental imaging modalitie...
